Slow Stitching
Slow Stitching is a wonderful meditative activity that can be done anywhere with just a few fabric remnants.
There are no rules to slow stitching. Simply take a few scraps of fabric and start sewing wherever your heart takes you.
Stitching in this way can be done alone or in a community group. Either way, you will find the process relaxing and soothing. A wonderful activity to relieve anxiety, depression and stress.

How To Start Slow Stitching
Starting to Slow Stitch is relatively easy. Simply find a piece of fabric to serve as the backing for your piece. This can be any size, but it is best to start off small so you are not overwhelmed. Then start attaching scraps of fabric with a needle and thread, and consider how to arrange them on your backing piece. Don't think too hard, though! Remember this is a form of meditation, so just sew where your needle takes you.
I love to sew outdoors by the river or in the middle of a wood. I find nature very inspiring, but you must choose your own place to slow stitch. Many people like to sew while travelling on a train. What a lovely way to pass the time.
